20th March 2024 - Spring Equinox
A morning walk around the village on the Spring Equinox on 20th March 2024. Officially, the start of Spring. I walked this morning between 7.30am and 8am and now in pure daylight, however, this morning was overcast with a vey light drizzle. Lots of green and yellow throughout the village with the daffodils now being the dominant flower. There's still lots that haven't yet bloomed. Hopefully, by Easter, the whole village will be a massive bowl of yellow. There are obvious signs of buds and delicate blossom flowers appearing on the various fruit trees around the village. A real joy to witness.

The First of March 2024
The second walk around the village for the blog. This time on 1st March 2024. Not the start of spring but there's a real indication of growth and light. I walked this morning between 7.30am and 8am and the daylight was visibly brighter. The sun peaked up above Durn Hill at 7.45 and I noticed on the 4th March, it rose there at 7.35. As you can see from the images below, the Woodland Walk is greener, and throughout the village the crocuses are almost at full bloom with the daffodils trying their best to catch up. Another couple of weeks and the village will be painted yellow.

This is the first blog of the website. Photos taken on 13th February 2024 between 7.30am and 8am. The weather was clear, crisp at around 2'c with frost and iced over puddles. However, it was a beautiful sunrise and well worth the usual morning trudge around the village, taking little Olive (3 year old Patterdale Terrier) for her morning walk. Multiple photos taken to show the start of growth around the village even in the depths of winter. Lovely to see the sunrise after a few months of walking in the dark at this time. Hopefully I will write a blog every fortnight to see how the village blooms with the seasons.
