Mains of Glassaugh named Small Farm Shop of the Year

Mains of Glassaugh Vegetables has been named Small Farm Shop of the Year at the Farm Shop & Deli Show 2026 in Birmingham. It's the top award for small farm shops in the UK.

The family-run farm shop, just outside Fordyce, was picked from independent businesses across the country. The judges were looking for passion, a genuine story, strong ties to the local community, and a team that cares about doing things properly. Mains of Glassaugh ticked every box.

The award recognises everything that regular customers already know. This is a place where the veg is grown on the farm, the welcome is warm, and there's always time for a chat.

Celebration day

To mark the end of the season and raise a cup to the award, the shop is open for one last day before the team heads back to the fields.

• 10am to 3pm
• Free tea, coffee, and a bit of shortbread
• A glass of Prosecco to celebrate
