đźš§ Church Street Closure: Drainage Works Begin September 1st đźš§

After months of community conversations, letters, and a fair bit of persistence, we’re pleased to share that Aberdeenshire Council has confirmed drainage works will begin on Church Street, Fordyce, starting Monday 1st September 2025. This marks a big win for local residents who’ve long voiced concerns about water runoff and road safety in the area.

đź”’ Road Closure Details

Church Street will be closed to through traffic from The Square to Back Street for five days, with access maintained for emergency services and residents needing to reach their properties. Please note there may be short delays while construction vehicles are cleared to allow safe passage.

🔄 Diversion Route

To keep things moving, a signed diversion will be in place via: Church Street → St Tarquins Place → School Road → East Church Street …and vice versa.

📍 Why It Matters

This work is a direct result of community advocacy—so thank you to everyone who raised their voice, attended meetings, and helped push for action. The improvements will help prevent future flooding and make our roads safer for everyone.
